Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Keep that in mind when designing sites. Sure you can make something bold, italic, different font size, all sorts of colors and add scrolling text everywhere. But one must always remember the principle of KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Your customers will buy from you or return back to your site because of your content or product, not because of how flashy you make it. Sure a good design is key, but should never overshadow your product.

It’s the content that sells, the design is just a way to deliver the product in an easier to understand way.

My sites are successful because they can get to the content right away. The designs of my sites don’t distract, but enhance their experience.

You can really tell an amateur company from a professional one by their design. If you can’t afford a measly $35 website template then I can’t trust you with my business.

if you want to emphasize something you can bold it, but italic and underlined as well? and how about those ‘get rich quick’ sites with highlighted text, small fonts and big fonts and all sorts of stuff. just keep it simple.

The sales pitch matters too. Like those sites that are practically begging you to buy their product. If your product was any good it would sell itself.
